Is 3-D Dead or a New Spin on an Old Spectacle?

At Macworld I interviewed Jason King from Spacial View about their 3-D Wazabi branded products that bring 3D to your notebook, desktop or Apple iPhone.

Now I’m a big sucker for 3-D because I use to work at EPCOT at Journey to Imagination’s 3-D Magic Eye Theater when I was in college and I love 3-D. I had a lot of fun in that Theater. The people I worked with there were fantastic and it was always fun to watch those 3-D movies over and over. I remember one time when we had to send back the movie posters for Michael Jackson’s 3-D Movie Captain EO because he had a cleft chin added to his face (now there’s a spectacle) and the movie posters were done before his surgery. I bet one of the original posters might sell on ebay for a few bucks.

Anyway, I know I’ve said it before but I’ll keep saying it cause I read it in Robert McKee’s book “Story” that when ever there is an advance in entertainment technology “Spectacle” comes first, then “Story.”

I guess the iPhone should be no exception.

That said, Are you using 3-D video to market any of your products?
