RIP Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Iranian Freedom

Bookmark and Share

The rest of American media is covering the death of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. I’ll give you that they were HUGE entertainers but the fact that the West Coast edition of the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams didn’t continue to cover the fall out of the Iranian Election today blows me away.

I normally blog about online videos and I know this is not a video but this Twitter ReTweet from @standwfreeiran is the most surreal tweet I’ve seen:

“If someone in your group gets killed, do not give the body to hospitals. Document the killing, Hide them for their families. #Iranelection.”

RIP Iranian Freedom – American Media has left you for dead.

I’m not proud right now but I am very thankful to be living in America.

Great comment. Nothing to add. Apart from MJ, news coverage in Germany is even worse this week. They rather repeat news from the Iranian state TV than citizen videos or reports.

I have been saying also that North Korea could blow Hawaii off the map and it would take Till the autopsy comes back to report it. Sad how much influence the media has and yet focuses so little on breadth and depth but plenty to drive ratings and hype. Thank goodness for free speech and those willing to do it for free to keep some of use with bigger horizons thinking of more than some very talented people who have died.
